Which states saw the most auditor differences this week?

Only states with at least 10 matched organizations are listed; below that a rate moves too far on one filing to mean anything.

No state had enough matched organizations to list.

How does this week compare with the week before?

The week before, 22 of 144 (15.3%) appeared with a different auditor, against 12.0% this week. A single week is noisy; the quarterly report is the steadier measure.

How we computed this

An organization counts once, on the single audit accepted in the week, compared with the auditor observed on its previous filing of any audit year. The auditor is identified by the Clearinghouse firm identifier (EIN); organizations with no auditor identifier on either filing are left out of both numbers. A firm renamed or combined into another under a new identifier is not separated here, which the quarterly report does; so this weekly rate reads a little higher. It describes filings, not decisions: we never see why an auditor appears. The week is Monday to Sunday and a filing counts in the week the Federal Audit Clearinghouse accepted it (the accepted date, which anyone can check on fac.gov). Counts are nonprofit auditees only, one report per organization and audit year, from our copy of the data; a resubmission supersedes the filing it replaces. They can differ slightly from a direct search on fac.gov, and a recent week can fill in after we read it.
